The apartments are very small, and to me, it was more like a hotel room than an apartment. My mother-in-law has not given it great reviews on the food. I haven't tasted any of the food there, because when we go visit, we take her out to eat. She likes the activities, they have a movie room there, they have arts and crafts, which she enjoys.
Levels of Care
Care is delivered by a highly skilled and compassionate staff that places the wishes and needs of clients at the core of their plans of care. St. Gabriel of Corpus Christi was wonderful. The staff is trained for patients with memory care issues. They have motion detectors in each of the patient's rooms and restrooms, so that they can monitor them in case someone has taken a fall or something like that. They could go check on them in the middle of the night.
Our team works collaboratively with our family of providers at CHI St. Gabriel’s Health and other health care facilities. Attending religious services or to doctor appointments does not disqualify patients from this requirement. My husband is a resident at St Gabriel of Corpus Christi. It is a very nice place and it is very clean.
I like it because there are not many people in each unit. I've visited a bunch of other places before choosing this one. This place has no odor or smell, which is my biggest pet peeve. His room has a nice size and they keep it clean. There's a cleaning lady that comes in and she does a very good job. There's a guy that comes in that does Zumba once a week.
